Best Vampire Games on Steam

Vampires are one of the few horror monsters that games can hand you rather than point at you, and Steam has both halves of that idea. Some of these put you on the receiving end of the fangs, hunting through fog-bound streets with a stake and a bad conscience. Others let you be the thing in the dark, building a castle, feeding on the living and burning in the sunrise if you get your timing wrong. The most complete power fantasy of the lot: you wake up as a weakened vampire, hunt bosses for their abilities, and build a castle you have to shelter in when the sun comes up. Survival crafting with a genuine vampire ruleset rather than vampire skin on a generic base builder.

A doctor in 1918 London who is also newly undead, forced to choose between the citizens he is treating and the blood that makes him stronger. Every named character you drink kills them permanently and changes the district, which is a far sharper moral system than most games manage.

The remaster of the series that made vampire fiction feel Shakespearean, with Raziel shifting between material and spectral realms to solve puzzles and settle a grudge. Both games in one package, and one of the biggest achievement lists on this page.

A stealth-forward immersive shooter about an undead gunslinger in a cursed frontier, closer to a slow, careful STALKER than a horror corridor. Its long achievement list rewards exploring the whole map rather than rushing the objectives.

An anime-styled soulslike where everyone is a blood-drinking Revenant and your weapon arm can turn into a bayonet-drill. The Blood Code system lets you swap whole builds between fights, which makes it friendlier than its inspirations without being easy.

Dracula himself as the player character, wandering a modern city and a gothic castle in the same story. It is the divisive one in this genre and the stealth sections are the reason, but the combat and the castle are still worth the trip.

A slow-motion shooter about a man chasing his vampire ex-girlfriend through an endlessly descending motel, told in a hard-boiled monologue. Short, stylish and much sadder than the premise suggests, with a tight achievement list to match.

The horde survival game that named a genre. The vampire framing is light - you are mostly a small sprite deleting thousands of monsters - but the unlock chain behind its enormous achievement list is one of the great completion grinds on Steam.

BloodRayne: Terminal Cut

The cleaned-up rerelease of the early-2000s dhampir action game, all wall-running, gun-and-blade combos and Nazis to feed on. Dated by design, but a short and unusually approachable 100% if you want a vampire game you can finish this week.
