Every PC game in one library. Achievements for the classics that never had them.
A free Windows launcher for all your stores, retro consoles with RetroAchievements, and 28 community Vault Sets with 2,006 achievements for games like Red Alert 2, Max Payne 2 and KOTOR.
Why Vault Launcher exists
For years we have wanted achievements for the games that never got them: classics on Steam and GOG, old favourites on Battle.net, and games that came out before achievements were a thing. With the reverse engineering and decompiling work happening across the community, that finally looks possible. That is what Vault Launcher was made for.
Vault Sets read what a game already shows you, like the map you are on or how many enemies you have defeated, the same way speedrun timers do. Vault never touches your game files and never changes a game. It also refuses to look inside online games that use anti-cheat, and uses official sources for those instead.
Along the way it grew into the launcher we always wanted: every store in one library, World of Warcraft and RetroAchievements next to Steam, a screenshot and a short clip the moment anything unlocks, a gallery to keep them, and our own little achievement popup, because we just love that moment.
A handful of sets are tested and published, and we can only build sets for games we own, so the list is small for now. Here is where it goes next:
- More sets for games we own, tested properly.
- Abandonware classics that nobody sells any more.
- Great old GOG games without achievements, like Diablo.
- Decompiled and recompiled console ports, like Forza Horizon 2, with their original achievement lists.
Want a game sooner? Request it and vote. Played an untested set? A test report in the forum helps more than anything.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes, completely. If you enjoy it you can support development on Ko-fi, but every feature is free.
Can it get me banned?
Vault never touches your game files. Vault Sets only read a game’s memory, the same way speedrun timers do, and never change anything. Vault refuses to read online games and games with anti-cheat (World of Warcraft, StarCraft Remastered, Warcraft III, Counter-Strike, Valorant and others). Those use official sources instead: Blizzard’s web API for WoW, and the replay or save files the game writes for StarCraft and Warcraft III.
Does it download games or ROMs?
No. It finds games you already have. The only downloads are the free emulator cores, the free ScummVM engine and games their publishers made freely available.
What does “Tested” mean?
Tested sets have been checked in a real game. Untested sets were built from research and are waiting for a player to confirm them. Playing one and posting in the forum is the best way to help.
Windows says the installer is unrecognised. Is that safe?
New programs from small developers show this until enough people have installed them. Click “More info” and then “Run anyway”. The installer comes straight from our GitHub.
Will I lose my Vault Set progress if I reinstall?
Not if you link the launcher to your SteamVault account. Your unlocks are saved online and come back on any PC you sign in on.
Vault Launcher is a free community project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve, Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Microsoft, RetroAchievements or any game publisher. Game names are the property of their owners. Vault Sets are fan-made achievement lists. The launcher never downloads, shares or modifies game files.
