Staggering comes from breaking an enemy's guard โ heavy attacks, the right stance against the right enemy type, and Perfect Parries all feed into it. Because it counts across the whole game, you will pass 50 long before you finish the main story as long as you fight rather than stealth past everything. If you have been playing Ghost-style and it has not popped, take a few Mongol camps head-on with the correct stance equipped for the enemy type in front of you.

Stances are unlocked by progressing the story and taking down Mongol leaders. Learn Stone, Water, Wind and Moon; each one is meant for a different enemy type, so the achievement doubles as the point where combat opens up. All four come well before the end of the campaign, so this is effectively unmissable on a normal route.
Vanity Gear is the cosmetic layer โ headbands, masks, hats, sword kits and dyes. You get it from liberating areas, finishing side content, opening chests and buying from merchants. Thirty is a lot if you rush the story, so treat it as a reason to clear side activities and check every merchant you pass.
Izuhara is the first region. Occupied areas show on the map once scouted; clearing the Mongols out of each one counts. Twelve is well short of the full region, so this pops on the way to the region-wide achievement.
Parry on the last possible frame of an incoming attack to Perfect Parry, then immediately attack for the counter. Unblockable (red-flash) attacks cannot be parried, so pick fights with regular swordsmen to farm this. Twenty adds up quickly once the timing clicks.
Gifts are handed out by grateful villagers and quest-givers after you help them, and turn up as rewards for side content. Doing Tales and liberating areas will get you to ten without going out of your way.

Ghost Stance is unlocked through the story and charged by terrifying or assassinating enemies. Once it is active, the special strikes it grants are lethal in one hit. Trigger it in any large camp and clear several enemies per activation; twenty comes fast if you use it rather than saving it.
Charms come from Shinto Shrines, Inari Shrines, Hot Springs and quest rewards. The sixth slot unlocks with story progress, so once you have it, open the gear menu and fill every slot with anything at all โ quality does not matter.
Toyotama is the second region. As in Izuhara, clearing eight occupied areas is a partial target that you will pass on the way to liberating the whole region.
Throwables are bought with Technique Points in the Ghost Weapons section of the skill menu. Technique Points come from levelling your Legend and from finishing Tales, so this really means doing enough side content to afford the full row. Check the tree near the end of the game and spend anything spare.

Baku is the New Game Plus merchant and only appears once you start a NG+ run. Find him, buy any single item, and it unlocks. This is one of the achievements that forces a second playthrough.
Sword upgrades are done at swordsmiths and cost supplies plus rare materials. The last tiers are the expensive ones, so this usually lands late once you have looted enough camps. Liberating territory and opening supply caches is the fastest way to fund it.
This is the full-region version of Hero of the People. Scout the whole of Izuhara so nothing stays hidden, then clear every occupied marker. You can come back for stragglers later โ nothing here is missable.

Artifacts are found in Mongol camps and chests. They are collectibles rather than gear, so it is easy to walk past them โ sweep camps after the fighting stops instead of riding straight out. Twenty is a modest fraction of the total available.

The full-region version of Good Riddance. Scout Toyotama completely, then clear every occupied marker on the map.
Standoffs let you kill one enemy for free, and skills in the Samurai tree raise that number. Buy the Standoff upgrades first, then start a Standoff against a group large enough to use them all. If you are unsure how many the game expects, take the upgrades to their cap and use a big camp.
Mythic Tales are the legend-flavoured side quests that reward the game's special armour and techniques. They are unlocked by finding musicians around the island, so scout widely and take every Mythic Tale marker you see. None of them are missable.
Legend is the game's progression bar and it fills from main story, Tales, liberating areas and side activities. There is no shortcut: do side content across all three regions and the title arrives before you run out of map.
Iki Island has its own Legend track, filled by Iki's own tales, activities and camps. Clear Iki thoroughly and the Legacy Redeemer title unlocks. This one needs the Director's Cut Iki Island content.

The Hidden Cove Tournament is an Iki Island activity fought with wooden swords. Duels are repeatable, so a loss is not fatal โ learn each opponent's rhythm and parry rather than trading blows.
The full-region version of Mass Eviction, and the last of the three regional clears.

This is the sum of the three regional achievements โ every occupied area in Izuhara, Toyotama and Kamiagata. Scout each region fully first so no marker stays hidden, then work through the map.
Clear every Mongol holding on Iki and finish the island's main confrontation with the Eagle. It is the Iki equivalent of Master Liberator and needs the Director's Cut content.
Duels are the one-on-one fights scattered through Tales and Mythic Tales, and they are the sharpest combat test in the game. Parry timing matters far more than damage output; unblockable attacks must be dodged, not blocked. They can be retried, so this is a patience achievement rather than a missable one.

Iki's collectible-activity sweep. Follow the guiding wind toward each activity type and tick them off region by region; the map fills in as you scout, so scouting first saves a lot of riding.
Shinto Shrines are the platforming challenges โ grapple and climbing routes up cliff faces to a shrine at the top. They are the fiddliest collectible in the game, and a few need traversal tools you unlock later, so save the last ones for the endgame.
Records are written collectibles picked up in camps, houses and around points of interest. Twenty is a low bar โ loot as you clear rather than moving straight on.
Lighthouses are scattered along the coast and each needs to be lit once you have cleared the area around it. Scouting the coastal regions puts them all on the map; then it is a riding tour.

Legends is the co-op mode, reachable from the main menu. A single Story mission with matchmade players is enough. Legends is free to play through and does not touch your single-player save.
Tales of Tsushima are the side quests attached to named characters and villages across the three regions. There are a lot of them, they unlock in waves as the story advances, and some only appear after specific acts โ so leave the final sweep until the campaign is over and the map has stopped changing.
The mainland version of the collectible-activity sweep. Inari Shrines are the awkward ones because the foxes lead you to them and there are many; scout every region fully so the icons are all on the map before you start hunting.

Iki's named side quests. Fewer than the mainland Tales, but do them after Iki's main story so everything has unlocked.

Unwritten tales are Iki's small unmarked encounters โ you find them by exploring and following the guiding wind rather than from the quest log. Ride the island rather than fast-travelling if you are missing some.
All Legends Story missions, all cleared at the same difficulty level. Bronze is the most forgiving choice and still counts. This needs co-op partners or matchmaking and is one of the longest achievements in the list.

The umbrella achievement โ it fires when every other base-game achievement is done, so it is the last one you will see. Nothing extra to do beyond the rest of the list.
Legends has four roles (classes) and each has its own rank. Pick one, stick with it and grind missions; rank comes from playing that role rather than the account overall.
Rivals is the competitive Legends mode where two teams race through waves. You need an actual win, so bring a coordinated pair if you can rather than relying on matchmaking.
Gold Survival is a serious Legends challenge โ high-rank gear, a full team and role synergy all matter. Build up your gear on lower difficulties first; attempting gold under-geared wastes everyone's time.
A full second run of the main campaign on a NG+ save. Combined with Grand Opening, this is the reason Ghost of Tsushima needs two playthroughs for 100 percent.
Binding is a Legends gear system that locks an item to a specific role in exchange for a bonus. Open the gear menu in Legends, pick anything you own and bind it.
Cursed gear drops in Legends with a downside attached and can be purified using the mode's currency. You need a Cursed item to drop first, so this depends on playing enough Legends to find one.
The Legends Raid is a four-player, three-chapter endgame activity with no matchmaking in its original form. You need a full group and high-rank gear; this is comfortably the hardest achievement in the game to organise.
Self-Actualized four times over โ every role taken to rank 20. Pure Legends playtime, and the longest grind on the list.
Shades are the enemies you send to the opposing team in Rivals by banking enough currency. Five in one match means a long, successful match where your team keeps spending on Shades rather than on other options.
