Secrets are green-glowing collectible orbs tucked behind breakable walls and off the main path. You will pass your first one naturally early in the Prologue - explore any side nook and break through the cracked scenery to grab it.
Killing enemies and finding Ability Cells fills your experience bar; each level grants an Ability Point. Open the Ability Tree (Spirit Tree menu) and spend one point on any skill to unlock this.
Simply play through the opening Prologue sequence to its end. It is unmissable story progression.
Map Stones fill in the map for a whole region. Find a Map Stone pedestal and place a Map Stone Fragment you have collected to restore it - your first is reached on the critical path.
Story-based. You meet the Ancient Being (Sein's guide) during early progression - unmissable as you follow the main path.
Once you have the Charge Flame ability, use it on the large cracked/rock walls that seal shortcuts. Break five of these sealed shortcuts over the course of the game and it unlocks.
You will glimpse a fleeing character in the shadows during the story - this happens automatically as the plot advances.
Some enemies fire projectiles or charge. Position yourself so a spitter enemy's own shot hits it, or use Bash to redirect a projectile back into the enemy that fired it.
Story moment - you befriend an unexpected creature as the narrative unfolds. Unmissable.
Reach and enter the Ginso Tree, a major main-path location. Progression-based.
Complete the Ginso Tree escape sequence - a vertical chase where you Bash off rising water and enemies to reach and cleanse the tree's heart. Progression, but the escape takes some platforming skill.
Awarded during a scripted narrow escape in the story - unmissable.
Collect Map Stone Fragments (hidden around each region) and place them at Map Stone pedestals until half of all Map Stones are restored.
Soul Links are your manual save points, created by spending Energy at a safe spot. Create 50 of them across a playthrough - natural if you save often.
Charge Flame does an area blast when fully charged. Bunch up four enemies (grouped spawns work well) and release a full Charge Flame to catch all four in one detonation.
Progress through the Misty Woods puzzle area, which clears the haze - main-path progression.
Similar to Self Destruction but five times: lure enemies so their attacks or projectiles hit other enemies. Areas with mixed ranged enemies make this easier.
In areas with crushing Stompers (the heavy blocks), time it so a charging Ram enemy is caught under a Stomper as it slams down.
Main-path progression - complete the objective that restores Nibel's winds.
A scripted close encounter during the story - unmissable.
Progression achievement earned when you reach the highest point of the world during the story.
Reach and enter Mt. Horu, the volcanic late-game region. Progression-based.
Story objective in the Mt. Horu sequence - unmissable.
A narrative achievement tied to the ending. Unmissable as you finish the story.
Finish the main story to the credits.
Black Root Burrows has a rolling-boulder chase (in the Definitive Edition content). Outrun the boulder to the end of the chase without being crushed.
Energy Shards (blue) drop from enemies and are found in the world. Gather 200 total - comes naturally with thorough exploration.
Stay in the air (using Double Jump, Bash and Charge Jump) and kill three enemies with Spirit Flame before you touch the ground.
Spirit Flame is your auto-aiming basic attack. Killing 500 enemies with it accumulates naturally over a full playthrough.
Chain five Double Jumps consecutively without landing. Best done over a pit using Bash off enemies/projectiles to reset your jumps, or with careful spacing in an open vertical area.
Locate half of the game's hidden secrets. Explore off the beaten path and break suspicious walls.
Light Burst throws a bomb of light. Find three unlit torches placed close together and hit all three with a single Light Burst blast radius.
Use Bash on incoming enemy projectiles to redirect them back into enemies. Rack up 25 kills this way - ranged-enemy areas are ideal.
Story achievement tied to Naru's arc. Unmissable as the plot resolves.
Buy every skill in the Efficiency branch of the Ability Tree. Save Ability Points and invest them all in that branch.
The Misty Woods hides a concealed corridor. Look for a hidden passage off the main route through the woods and enter it.
Purchase every skill in the Utility branch of the Ability Tree.
Spirit Portals (fast-travel points) let you save. Interact to save at each Spirit Portal you find across the world.
Purchase every skill in the Combat branch of the Ability Tree.
Health Cells (each adds to your max health) are hidden throughout Nibel. Collect all of them - a map guide helps for the last few.
Unlock all Combat, Utility and Efficiency skills. Requires enough Ability Points from XP and Ability Cells over a full playthrough.
Energy Cells (each raises your max Energy) are hidden across the world. Find every one - the last few are usually behind tricky platforming.
Place Map Stone Fragments at every Map Stone pedestal to restore all of them, revealing the full map.
Find a loose rock and repeatedly Bash it before it lands, keeping it airborne for five consecutive Bash hits.
Stomp (the ground-slam ability) is needed for 50 kills. Slam down onto enemies from above until you reach 50.
Reveal and physically visit every area of the map. Combine full Map Stone restoration with thorough exploration of each region.
Charge Dash lunges through targets. Line up five enemies (or dash through several grouped foes) and kill five with Charge Dash.
Use the Charge Flame area blast to kill 100 enemies total over the playthrough.
Locate every hidden secret in the game. A collectible map is very helpful for a 100 percent secret sweep.
Charge Jump launches you upward with force. Use it to kill five enemies by launching into them.
Complete a full playthrough on Hard difficulty. Enemies hit harder and are tankier - upgrade Combat/Utility skills and use Soul Links often.
Chain ten Bashes off enemies or projectiles without touching the ground. A dense cluster of flying enemies or a projectile stream lets you keep resetting mid-air.
Get 50 kills with the Light Burst bomb ability over the course of the game.
A speedrun achievement. Learn an efficient route, skip optional collectibles, and use movement tech (Bash chains, Charge Jump) to beat the game in under three hours of in-game time.
Complete the entire game without ever spending an Ability Point. You keep only your default abilities and story-granted skills - plan carefully and rely on movement over combat upgrades.
Complete a full playthrough without a single death. Play cautiously, create Soul Links constantly, and consider a lower difficulty. One death voids the run.
One Life difficulty gives you a single life for the whole game - any death ends the run. The hardest achievement; master movement and the escape sequences first on easier modes.
