Hidden single-player story achievement (the most common in the game). It pops during the opening hours of the campaign — unmissable, just start the story.
Boot into GTA Online and finish the tutorial intro race/sequence with Lamar. Unmissable first step into Online.
Buy a cheap apartment and a garage from the in-game internet, and buy + insure a vehicle from a website (so it's permanently yours). Hold all three at once.
Hidden single-player story achievement tied to a required campaign mission. Unmissable through normal story progression.
At Ammu-Nation, buy every available attachment and tint for a single weapon (suppressor, extended clip, scope, grip, flashlight, etc.). A pistol is the cheapest to max out.
RP from almost any activity levels you up. Races, missions and heists all count — you'll pass Rank 25 with a few sessions.
Hidden story achievement for completing the campaign's first heist. Unmissable — it's a required story mission early in the game.
Hidden story achievement for the campaign beat where Michael and Trevor's storylines collide again. Unmissable — it happens as part of the main story.
Get a bounty placed on you (other players can set one), then survive a full in-game day (48 real minutes) without being killed. Hide in a passive-friendly spot or a private-ish session to wait it out.
Keep earning RP. Heist finales and Survival give big RP chunks — run those to climb to 50 faster.
Hidden single-player story achievement that pops by completing the matching required story mission. Unmissable; just play the campaign.
Hidden story achievement tied to a mid-game heist mission. Unmissable through normal campaign progression.
Hidden single-player story achievement that pops near the end of the campaign. Unmissable through story progression.
Hidden story achievement tied to the Paleto Bay bank job. Unmissable — it's a required heist in the campaign.
Hidden single-player story achievement tied to a required story mission. Unmissable; play through the campaign.
Hidden Doomsday Heist achievement. Work through the heist's acts with a crew; it unlocks as part of completing the Doomsday content.
Find a Gang Attack on the map, get at least 10 kills, and don't die for the whole event. Use cover and a strong rifle; doing it solo gives you all the kills.
Hidden story achievement for completing the final mission of the campaign. When the game gives you the ending choice, pick Option C (Deathwish) to finish the story — the canon 'save everyone' ending.
Hidden single-player story achievement from the end-game stretch of the campaign. Unmissable through normal story progression.
Own a high-end apartment with a heist planning room, then launch the first heist (The Fleeca Job) as host. You need ~$200k for the apartment.
Take a car to Los Santos Customs and buy every upgrade category (engine, brakes, armor, etc.). You don't need cosmetics — just max the performance categories.
Join any Social Club Crew, then finish any Job (race, mission, etc.) while repping it. Joining a crew takes seconds via the pause menu.
Platinum Awards come from maxing the game's award challenges (kills, races won, money earned, etc.). Earn 30 of them — a broad cumulative grind across Online activities.
Hidden story achievement for completing the campaign's final, biggest heist. It's a required late-game mission — unmissable on the way to finishing the story.
A long RP grind. The fastest reliable RP comes from repeating heist finales and high-RP Adversary modes. Expect many hours.
Finish any heist finale without your character taking damage. The Fleeca Job (2-player) is easiest — have your partner take the risky role while you play it safe, or run a tightly coordinated team.
Buy a stock on the BAWSAQ or LCN exchange, wait for it to rise, and sell for profit. The Lester assassination missions in the story are the guaranteed way to move stocks in your favor.
Hidden Doomsday Heist achievement, unlocked while completing the heist's act content with a crew.
Hidden Doomsday Heist achievement tied to Act 1. Own a Facility, complete the act's setup missions, then the finale with a crew of 2-4.
Hidden achievement for completing the Doomsday Heist Act 1 finale. Run the act's setups then the finale with a coordinated team.
Combined spending of $200M. Save the final heist (The Big Score) for big income, then blow it on properties, the stock market, and assets across Michael, Franklin and Trevor.
Reach the rank that unlocks Merryweather services, then call a Backup Helicopter from your phone's contacts once. Cheap and instant.
Trevor's five Rampage missions — survive escalating waves of enemies (gangs, then military). Bring heavy weapons and use cover; each is a short combat survival challenge.
Hidden achievement for completing the Doomsday Heist Act 2 finale (the submarine act). Complete the act's setups then the finale with your crew.
Hit all 50 Unique Stunt Jumps across the map (land them successfully). Use a fast bike or sports car and a jump-location map; some take a few attempts to land.
Survive all 10 waves of any Survival job. Bring a friend or two, hold a defensible corner, and prioritise the RPG/heavy enemies in later waves.
Buy a Facility (required property) and launch the first Doomsday Heist act setup as host. The Facility is the main cost barrier.
Open the Rockstar Editor (pause menu) and launch Director Mode with any unlocked actor. Instant once you start it.
As Franklin, purchase the Downtown Cab Co. property, then accept and complete the private taxi fare it unlocks.
Hidden achievement for completing the final Doomsday Heist act (Act 3). The biggest of the three — finish its setups then the finale with a full, coordinated team.
Rob all 20 convenience stores at least once. Aim a gun at the clerk until they hand over the cash. Use a store-location map and tour them across sessions.
Earn a gold rank in every minigame/activity (golf, tennis, darts, shooting range, races, etc.). Each has its own gold requirement — work through them one by one.
As Trevor, find a random-event NPC you can capture (e.g. a hitchhiker or someone in a hostage event) and drive them to the Altruist Cult camp in the northern mountains instead of helping them.
NPC muggers occasionally steal your cash in Online. Chase the mugger down and kill them to get your money back and the achievement.
Win five races while driving a personal (custom/modified) vehicle rather than a supplied one. Enter custom-vehicle races and use a fast, well-tuned car.
Host a 4-player heist finale and split the take evenly — 25% to each of the four players. Just set the percentages in the pre-heist menu.
Trevor's Bail Bond stranger missions (Maude) — track down a target and capture them without killing them, then deliver them alive for the bigger payout.
Switch the camera to first-person (toggle key) and play normally for 15 cumulative hours. It tracks in the background — just leave first-person on while you do other achievements.
Win at least once in every competitive mode category (races, deathmatches, etc.). The grind is finding populated lobbies for each mode; rooftop rumble-style playlists help cover several.
Spend a cumulative $8M buying the vehicles added in the Heists update. A big money sink — grind heist finales for income, then buy the qualifying vehicles.
Hidden single-player story achievement that pops during the back half of the campaign. Unmissable — it comes through normal story progression.
Reveal the entire map by visiting/driving through every region (clears the map fog). A flight across the whole map plus some ground driving fills in any gaps.
Each heist setup/finale has elite-style objectives worth platinum medals. Run heists with a coordinated crew hitting the platinum criteria 25 times.
Requires a Facility with the Orbital Cannon upgrade (very expensive). Mark an enemy player and fire the cannon on them. Pricey, so usually done once the Facility is bought for other content.
Swim out into deep ocean water (away from shore) and wait — a shark will eventually find and attack you. "You're gonna need a bigger boat."
Fly under all 50 bridges AND complete all 15 Knife Flights (fly close to the ground/objects in a plane). A flying skill-check — a slow plane like the Cuban 800 makes the bridges easier.
As Trevor, buy the McKenzie Field Hangar property and complete its gun-running mission chain to win the arms race.
Michael's Epsilon stranger questline — sign up online, complete its missions (including driving and donating money), and finish the program for inner peace. It requires donating a chunk of cash, so be solvent.
In Director Mode, pick your own GTA Online character as the actor (rather than a story character or NPC) and start it.
50 spaceship parts are scattered across the whole map for Franklin's stranger mission. Use a collectible map and tour them; turning them in completes the chain.
As Trevor, buy the Sonar Collections Dock, then use its submarine to find and collect all 30 nuclear waste barrels on the ocean floor. Use a collectible map — it's a long underwater hunt.
In a Rally race, take the co-driver (navigator) seat and guide your driver to a win. Best set up with a friend on comms; the co-driver sees the upcoming track.
Collect all 50 Letter Scraps around the map, then complete the resulting stranger mission to identify the killer. Use a Letter Scrap location map.
Each story mission and Strangers & Freaks mission has gold-medal objectives (time, accuracy, specific tasks). Replay missions from the pause menu and hit every objective to bank 70 golds.
Late in the story (once you can swap freely), gather Michael, Franklin and Trevor in one spot, get a 3-star wanted level, and survive 3 minutes. Grab body armor and a strong vehicle/cover first.
Take part in one of each main Online activity type — a race, a deathmatch, a mission, etc. Working through a varied session of jobs covers the list.
The single-player 100% checklist: all story missions, S&F missions, hobbies/pastimes, random events, all collectibles, and the misc. tasks. The capstone story achievement — knock out everything on the 100% checklist.
Easiest path: just enter Director Mode five separate times. Alternatively, record a clip and export one video from the Rockstar Editor.
Unlock an animal actor (play as animals via the peyote plants, or they unlock through play), then enter Director Mode as one for the first time.
Simplest route: enter Director Mode ten separate times. Each entry counts, so pop in and out.
Story-character actors in Director Mode unlock as you progress/100% the campaign. Once the story-character category is fully unlocked, enter Director Mode as one of them.
Hidden achievement; Steam doesn't show the trigger. Given the name, it's tied to GTA V's cryptid/peyote content — find and consume the hidden Peyote plants to transform into animals (and encounter creatures like the Sasquatch/Chiliad mystery). Use a Peyote location map. We'll confirm the exact condition and update this.
In Director Mode, use the location-teleport menu and warp to every available location at least once. Work down the full list.
Special-character actors unlock by completing specific content (strangers, random events, etc.). Once that category is fully unlocked, enter Director Mode as one of them.
Cris Formage (the Epsilon cult leader) unlocks as a Director Mode actor after the Epsilon questline. Enter Director Mode as him.
Each Doomsday act finale has an Elite Challenge (time limit, low deaths, specific objectives). Clear the elite criteria on all three act finales — demands a coordinated team.
One of the hardest Online achievements: complete all three Doomsday Heist acts in order, same team, no deaths, on hard. Needs a skilled, committed 2-4 player crew and a long uninterrupted session.
