Early on Rocket makes a wager with Star-Lord. Winning it comes down to the choice/outcome at that scripted moment ā make the bet and follow through on the condition. It's missable if you breeze past the dialogue, so when Rocket challenges you, engage with it. If you miss it, replay that early chapter via chapter select.
Find and equip one Outfit.
Outfits are hidden in optional side areas off the main path. Finding one and equipping it from the menu is enough ā the equip step is what actually pops it, so do not just pick it up and move on.
ā ļø Missable. Chapter Select exists in this game, but collectible and outfit progress found during a Chapter Select replay does not save to your main file ā so you cannot clean this up after finishing the story the way you can with the combat achievements. Track it as you go on your first run, or carry it into New Game+ (progress does carry into NG+). Rotating between two manual save slots is the usual safety net.
Momentum builds as you fight stylishly without taking hits ā issuing companion commands, varying attacks, and landing combos. Maxing it triggers the 'Huddle' opportunity. Play aggressively and use companion abilities to spike Momentum to max; do it across 10 separate encounters. Avoiding damage keeps the meter climbing.
Cast Drax's Wrath of Katath on enemies, then finish them while the effect is on them (you or any Guardian can land the kill). Use it on a group so multiple enemies are 'affected', then mop them up. 10 total across the game.
Abilities are bought with ability points earned by leveling (combat + finishing encounters). Each companion has four special abilities; you need all of them unlocked across all four characters ā 16 total, plus you'll naturally want Star-Lord's too. Spend points as you earn them rather than hoarding; by late game you'll have enough for everyone. If you're short at the end, replay combat-heavy encounters via chapter select to farm the last points. Open the Abilities menu for each Guardian and confirm none are locked.
Groot's Gift of the Florae heals/revives. Use it whenever a teammate is hurt or downed ā even topping up healthy-ish allies counts toward the 10. On harder fights you'll trigger it naturally; otherwise just cast it on the team when it's available.
Five Barrel Barrage is Rocket's big AoE. Save it for tight groups of weakened enemies so one cast scores several kills toward the 20. Direct Rocket's ability at clusters rather than single targets. Cumulative, so spam it in every crowd encounter once unlocked.
Fan the Hammer is a rapid-fire Star-Lord ability ā unlock it, then make a habit of using it as the finisher on weakened enemies. It must land the killing blow. Use it on already-softened mobs in crowd fights so each cast bags multiple kills. Cumulative across the game, so just favour it whenever it's off cooldown and you'll pass 15 quickly.
Pay your Nova Corps fine.
This is an economy trap rather than a collectible: you are fined later in the story, and if you have already spent your Units you will not be able to pay it. Community guides consistently warn to hold on to your Units through the mid-game shopping opportunity so you can still afford the fine when it comes due.

Inquisitors are the tougher Church enemies. When one appears, fill Drax's Call to Action prompt (build the meter) and trigger it specifically on the Inquisitor ā Drax's CtA can dismember/finish them. You need the right enemy type, so wait for an Inquisitor encounter (later chapters) and use Drax's CtA on it rather than a regular foe.
Executioner is a Gamora finisher ā command her to use it on low-health/staggered targets so it secures the kill. 10 cumulative. Pair with staggers so the target is guaranteed to die to the ability.
Eye of the Hurricane is Star-Lord's spinning AoE ability. Like the other ability-kill achievements, use it on grouped, softened enemies for multi-kills. Unlock it early and lean on it in crowd fights; 20 kills come naturally over a few chapters.
Find half of the Guardian Collectibles.
Guardian Collectibles are the personal keepsakes scattered through the chapters, tracked per Guardian in the menu. This one asks for half of the total.

Throughout the game you find personal collectibles tied to each Guardian (they trigger banter when picked up). You only need to complete the full set for ONE of them. Pick a character and prioritise their items ā explore every optional nook in each chapter, since collectibles are tucked off the main path. Track the count in the menu and clean up the last few for your chosen Guardian via chapter select.
Find all of the Guardian Collectibles for one Guardian.
You only need a clean sweep for a single Guardian, not all of them ā so pick whichever one you are already closest to and focus your searching on their collectibles.

Compendium entries unlock by scanning/interacting with people, places, and objects (the 'visor scan' prompts) across every chapter. You need 65% in EACH category, so don't neglect any one type ā scan characters, environments, and items as you go. Exploring thoroughly and inspecting everything flagged gets you there; check the Compendium category percentages and target whichever is lagging.
Collect 65 % of all Gallactic Compendium entries of each category.
Note the wording carefully: it is 65% of each category, not 65% overall, so a lopsided collection that is heavy in one category will not qualify. Compendium entries come from scanning and interacting with objects as you explore.

Stagger an enemy (hammer it with elemental shots matching its weakness, or use companion abilities that stagger), then while it's staggered hold to fire a Charged Shot for the kill. The combo is stagger ā charged-shot finish, 15 times. Elemental guns make staggering fast ā e.g., Ice on fast enemies, Lightning on shielded ones. Look for the stagger meter filling, then charge and fire.
Each Guardian has a hidden alternate outfit found in a specific chapter (they're in explorable side areas ā e.g., behind optional paths). Use a chapter checklist: Star-Lord's, Gamora's, Drax's, Rocket's, and Groot's outfits each live in a particular chapter's environment. Grab them as you explore thoroughly, and equip each one (equipping is required, not just finding). Use Chapter Select to return for any you missed.
