Perks are unlocked with Perk Points (from milestones/leveling) in the Perks menu — each node you unlock counts. Just spend perk points as you earn them across the active + passive perk trees; 10 nodes comes quickly. Milestones (in the abyss bar) are the main perk-point source, so complete milestones.
BET-C is the rogue robot found in some caves. First fight/subdue her (shoot until she powers down — she has weakpoints and stops when 'defeated'), then walk up and REPAIR her (hold the use prompt). Once repaired she fights alongside you. You need both steps: defeat, then fix. She's a random cave encounter, so keep an eye out on missions.
Warnings are the red modifiers on a mission (Exploder Infestation, Cave Leech Cluster, Low Oxygen, Elite Threat, etc.). Pick missions that show Warning icons and complete them fully. 20 total — deliberately choose warning-tagged missions (they also give more XP/gold), and higher hazards have them more often.
Mini M.U.L.E.s are the little repair-bot objectives in Salvage Operation missions (you repair broken Mini-MULEs, then defend the Uplink/Fuel Cells). Run Salvage missions and repair every Mini-MULE you find; 50 cumulative. Salvage is the mission type to farm this.
Bulk Detonators are the big glowing exploding bugs that spawn during swarms/warnings. Kill 20 (participation counts). They explode on death — shoot the glowing sacs, kite it away from the team, and finish it. They appear more on higher hazard + certain warnings, so higher-haz runs speed this up.
Dreadnoughts are the big boss bugs from Elimination missions (and some events). Run Elimination missions (each has 1–2 Dreadnoughts) — you just need to participate in the kill, so team play counts. 40 total is a steady grind of Elimination runs. Bring focused fire + weakpoint damage; the twin Dreadnoughts (Lacerator/Hiveguard) also count.
Hazard 5 is the top difficulty — dense swarms, high damage. Go with a coordinated team (or a very strong build) and pick an easier mission type (Mining Expedition or Egg Hunt over Salvage/Elimination). Bring the right class synergy, use terrain to funnel bugs, revive fast, and don't overextend. You must finish the whole mission (including the drop-pod escape). 'Rock Solid' wants five Hazard-5 completions.
Compressed Gold is a denser gold node (bigger gold clumps) found in walls. Mine 20 across your career — they're fairly common, so just mine gold thoroughly each mission. Cumulative; comes with normal play.
Promotion requires a class at level 25 with the required resources. You must promote Driller, Engineer, Gunner, AND Scout at least once each — so level all four to 25 and promote them. That's a lot of XP across every class; play each class you're leveling and complete assignments. 'Movin' On Up' is one promotion; the tiered ones (Silver/Gold Employee) want repeated promotions.
Bittergems are rare purple crystals embedded in cave walls (they sparkle). You must mine them out carefully — they're worth good gold. They're semi-random per mission, so scan walls (a Scout with flares helps spot the sparkle). 10 cumulative; keep an eye out every mission and always mine one when you see it.
On a Dual-Dreadnought Elimination (the twins that must die close together anyway), coordinate the team to bring BOTH to low health, then finish them within 30 seconds of each other. Save cooldowns/grenades and focus one to ~death, then swap and drop both fast. High DPS builds + the whole team synced on the kill window is the key. 'Pest Control' is the easier 5-minute version.
Promotion tiers: Bronze (1st), Silver (2nd), Gold (3rd promotion of a single class). After each promotion you re-level that class 1→25 again. So Gold = promote one class three times = level it to 25 three times. Pick your favourite class and keep re-leveling + promoting it. 'Legendary Team' wants Gold on all four — a serious grind.
Pure longevity — every completed mission counts, solo or in a team, any hazard. Shorter mission types (Egg Hunt, Mining Expedition on lower hazard) finish fastest if you're grinding the number. It comes naturally over a few hundred hours; if you're pushing for it, run quick low-hazard Mining Expeditions with Bosco solo. Expert Miner (100) and Miner (1) are milestones along the way.
This is the prestige Hazard-5 clear (the hidden condition is the extra challenge — typically completing it solo or without being downed). Best approach: a strong solo class with Bosco (Driller for crowd-clear + escape tunnels, or Engineer for turret chokes), pick Mining Expedition, and play conservatively — kite swarms, use your panic button (e.g., Iron Will builds), and prioritise survival over speed. Karl is proud of the ones who don't go down.
The Barrel Hoop game is by the launch bay — throw barrels into the hoop for points, with a timer/streak. To hit 3000, throw quickly and keep your streak/multiplier going (consecutive scores ramp points). Stand at a consistent distance so your throws are muscle-memory, and don't miss (misses break the streak). A few practice rounds to dial in the arc gets you there.
