Analyzing resources at the Resource Analyzer (near the field stations) unlocks recipes. Feed it 15 different materials you gather early (grass, sap, fibre, pebblets, etc.). Comes naturally as you learn recipes; feeds the Report Card.
Build a Roasting Spit (grass + sprig), get a piece of bug meat (from a gnat, mite, or larva), and cook it on the spit. Cooked meat heals and feeds you. One cook unlocks it.
Mutations are perks unlocked by doing activities (blocking, eating certain foods, killing bugs). Once a mutation's requirement fills, equip it from the mutation menu. Your first one unlocks early just by playing — check the menu and equip it.
Sites are the named landmarks that reveal as you explore (labs, landmarks, hidey-holes). Walk the yard thoroughly — 20 discoveries come naturally as you push into new biomes. Analyzing map markers and exploring edges reveals them faster.
Wolf Spiders are the iconic terror of the yard — fast, hard-hitting. Come prepared with a Tier 2+ weapon (Ant Club / Salt Morning Star), armor, healing smoothies, and perfect-block practice. Fight one near a base or use terrain/traps. Blocking its lunges and hitting between attacks wins it.
Craft all three pieces (head/chest/legs) of one Tier 2 armor set (e.g. the Ladybug or Ant set) and wear them together. Matching sets grant a set bonus. Gather the creature parts, craft the full set, and equip it.
Ziplines are built with Zipline Anchors + Silk Rope. Place two anchors more than 100 cm apart (measure across a gap between raised points) and ride the line with a Zip.R. A long zipline between two tall bases does it — and they're great for base traversal.
Tier 3 items require late-game materials (from the harder biomes/creatures). Unlock a Tier 3 recipe and craft one item — usually the first Tier 3 weapon after beating a mid-game boss for its parts. Milestone toward the max-upgrade achievements.
Milk Molars are hidden collectibles used to upgrade stats (via the mutation/upgrade menu). Find and infuse 20 regular ones — they're scattered across the yard, often on high ledges or in hidden spots. Use a Milk Molar location guide to gather them; they also boost your power for the boss fights.
Mushroom Bricks are an advanced building material. Unlock the recipe (via BURG.L/exploration), craft the bricks from Mushroom + clay, and place a Mushroom Brick building piece. One placed piece unlocks it.
Certain bugs (aphids, weevils, gnats) can be tamed. Craft the right pet item (a Pet House helps), approach the bug, and feed it its preferred food to tame it. Once it's your pet, this unlocks — pets can carry loot and cheer you up (coziness).
Beefy smoothies (a memorized recipe that boosts strength) are made at the Smoothie Station. Learn the recipe, craft the ingredients, and drink 5 across your playthrough. Handy buff before fights, so this comes naturally if you use smoothies.
The Super Duper machine (unlocked via BURG.L) duplicates rare items using Raw Science + the item's requirements. Build it, feed it Raw Science, and duplicate any eligible item once. Great for farming boss-drop gear.
Tier 3 arrows (e.g. Splinter/Mega Splinter arrows) need the Tier 3 crafting materials and the recipe. Gather the components and craft a batch at the workbench. Good for the ranged-kill achievements too.
Tier 3 gear is upgraded at the Smithing Station using rare materials (Globs, Rust, etc.). Take one Tier 3 weapon or tool all the way to its max upgrade level — this needs a stack of high-tier resources, so farm the required mats (e.g. Splinters, Globs from specific creatures). A maxed Tier 3 item is also your best boss gear.
Flying bugs = mosquitoes, bees, wasps, gnats. Equip a bow, back off to more than 30 cm from a flier, lead your shot, and land the killing arrow at range. Mosquitoes near ponds are easy targets; aim slightly ahead of their flight path.
A perfect block is blocking the instant an attack lands (a flash + no stamina loss). Fight a predictable enemy (a single ant or a larva) and time your block to each swing — 10 perfect blocks in a row without a normal/failed block. Practise the timing on weak, slow enemies; it also unlocks a defensive mutation.
Coziness comes from decorative furniture, lights, and cozy items in your base. Deck out a base with enough cozy decor to hit the max coziness tier, then rest/lounge there. Add chairs, rugs, lights, and dandelion/clover decor until the coziness meter maxes.
There are multiple Ant Queens (Black Ant Queen and others across updates). Each is a tough boss with adds. Bring top-tier gear, block their bites, and clear the summoned ants. Defeating every Queen unlocks this — do it as part of the endgame push.
MIX.R defense events are wave-survival objectives (protect the device from bug waves). Complete every MIX.R and Super MIX.R across the map. Set up walls/spike traps and strong ranged weapons before triggering each — they escalate. Part of the endgame content.
Creature Cards unlock by defeating (or in some cases just analyzing) each creature type. You must encounter and kill every bug in the yard, including the dangerous ones (Wolf Spiders, Orb Weavers, the Broodmother, Infected creatures, wasps, mantis). Use a creature checklist and hunt down the rare/biome-locked ones. Needed for the Report Card too.
BURG.L (in the Oak Tree lab) hands out quests for Raw Science. Complete every quest on his list — many require exploring specific biomes, defeating creatures, or building things. Turn in Raw Science and keep taking new quests until the list is exhausted. Feeds the Report Card and story progress.
The 100% capstone. First finish the story ('Go Big Again' — reach the final lab and trigger the ending), then satisfy every Report Card category: creatures peeped, sites discovered, BURG.L quests, resources analyzed, milk molars, recipes, etc. Use the Report Card (in the pause menu) as a checklist and mop up the categories you're short on before the final sequence. This is the sum of most other achievements, so do it last.
Reach and finish the endgame after dealing with the Black Ant Queen/Assistant Manager and the final lab sequence. Story progression is gated behind BURG.L quests, lab access, and boss fights — work through the labs (Hedge, Pond, Black Ant Hill) and the endgame. Finishing triggers this; combine with the Report Card for Super Win.
