After reaching the Erdtree's gaze the first time, Melina offers to take you to the Roundtable. Rest at any Site of Grace and pick 'Roundtable Hold' from the travel menu. Easy unlock.
The Hold is your main hub — NPCs, vendors, the Smithing Master Hewg, all in one place.
First major story boss. Hammer + dagger + gold spear projectiles. The Margit's Shackle (purchase from Patches in Murkwater Cave for 5000 runes) STUNS him twice per fight — a lifesaver.
Don't be afraid to Spirit Ashes summon. Margit is a Souls-style filter; don't skip prep.
First major boss. Stormveil Castle is gated by Margit (the gate boss). Once past Margit, navigate the castle to Godrick.
Two phases. Phase 1: dodge his Graft-Greataxe swings. Phase 2: he grafts a dragon head — bait the fire breath, attack his body. Recommended level: 25-30.
After beating a Shardbearer, take their Great Rune to the nearest Divine Tower (e.g., Godrick's rune to Divine Tower of Limgrave). Climb the tower, activate the rune.
Activated runes give passive buffs when consumed with a Rune Arc. Quick mandatory progression step.
Magic wolf. Teleport-spam attacks. Stay close and hit it when it pauses to cast.
Greatsword stagger is the standard answer. Bleed works. Magic resist gear helps with the projectile spam.
Final boss of Raya Lucaria. Phase 1 is a puzzle — knock her out of her shield with a heavy attack on one of the corruption students. Phase 2 is a combat fight but she's actually slow and predictable.
The easiest 'Shardbearer' tier boss.
End of Castle Morne. Fast aggressive sword-flailing boss. Stamina-management fight — block patiently, riposte after his combo ends.
Reward: half of the Grafted Blade Greatsword set.
Different from Haligtree Loretta. This is the Caria Manor version, encountered earlier and weaker.
Mounted magic knight. Same general strategy: stay close, dodge greatbow shots, punish her halberd combos. Magic resist helps.
## The Festival
Reach Redmane Castle in southern Caelid. The Radahn Festival is a multi-summon boss — use NPC summons (Blaidd, Patches, Iron Fist Alexander, etc.) to overwhelm him.
Phase 1: large arena, ranged horse-combat. Phase 2: meteor descent + flaming gravity slashes. Stay close — his ranged attacks are the bigger threat. Recommended: level 50+.
Trick fight: the boss MIMICS you. If you walk in with weapons drawn, it mirrors your loadout. Walk in NAKED with no items equipped and it's basically harmless.
Alternative: bring a 'cheese' loadout — Sleeping Pots, Throwing Knives, etc. The mimic only copies equipment, not consumables.
Defeating it grants the Mimic Tear Spirit Ashes — one of the best spirit ashes in the game.
First half of Hoarah Loux's two-phase fight. With axe — predictable wide swings, easy to bait once you learn the patterns. Phase 2 (Hoarah Loux wrestler form) is the harder half — see 'Hoarah Loux, Warrior.'
Leyndell capital boss. Fast, aggressive, big sword swings. Phase 2 adds flame-curse projectiles.
Key: stay close, dodge into his swings (not away). The big AOE leap can be dodged by sprinting AWAY at the right moment. Recommended: level 70+.
Dragon-snake in lava arena. Stay BEHIND his head; he can't hit you with his tail-strike from that angle. Lightning resist helps for one of his attacks. Riding horseback is harder here — fight on foot.
Smithing Stones (1-9) plus Somber Smithing Stones (1-10) for special weapons. Late-game stones drop from Crumbling Farum Azula. Mining Bell Bearings at the Roundtable Hold let you buy from the Twin Maiden Husks.
Massive boss in a large arena. Two phases. Phase 1: focus the ankle wound on his weak leg. Phase 2: he stands up and reveals his real face below the belly — same target.
Horseback combat helps for mobility. Sleep / Frostbite / Bleed all work. Recommended: level 100+.
After defeating both the Fire Giant AND Maliketh, the Erdtree's burning cinematic plays automatically. Approach Leyndell and the burned-tree version of the area becomes accessible.
This is the gate to the final boss zone. Unmissable on the path to any ending.
Summons two spirit knights as adds. Kill the adds FIRST or you'll get sandwiched. Once Niall is solo, he's a standard knight fight — fast halberd combos, dodge laterally.
Frost / Bleed work well. Reward: half of the Haligtree Medallion.
Unique boss — use the Serpent-Hunter spear (in the boss arena, picked up before engaging) to attack his massive serpent form.
Gripping with the spear's long range trivialises this fight. Don't use any other weapon; the spear has special damage scaling against him. Easy fight if you remember the spear.
Required for Ranni's questline. Eldritch cosmic boss. The grab attack one-shots if you don't dodge it — watch his head movement.
Key: stay close to one of his front legs. His ranged attacks are aimed forward; flanking neutralises 80% of his moveset. Magic resist talismans help.
Two-boss fight: Noble (fat) + Apostle (skinny). Their HP is SHARED — focus one until either dies; whichever dies first, the other ALSO loses health.
Death Blight or Madness builds nuke them. Otherwise: stay mobile, dodge, focus the Apostle first (faster, more dangerous).
Found in Spiritcaller's Cave, Volcano Manor, and Crumbling Farum Azula. Any single kill counts.
Fat magic-wielder. Stay close — at distance his AOE projectiles are deadly. Bleed and Frostbite trivialise him.
Lesser version of the Regal Ancestor Spirit. Found in Siofra River main path.
Light particle-effect boss. Sacred / Holy damage is strong. The same fight as 'Regal Ancestor Spirit' but smaller / faster.
Two-phase boss. Phase 1 is Beast Clergyman (slower, dodgeable). Phase 2 is Maliketh — extremely fast, gold-damage attacks that ignore most defences.
Key: phase 2 attacks deal 'Destined Death' damage which reduces max HP per hit. Bring an Opaline Bubbletear for the first hit, and the Crimsonburst Crystal Tear for healing. Recommended: level 130+.
Two paths: Mohg in Subterranean Shunning Grounds (easier version) OR Mohg, Lord of Blood in Mohgwyn Palace (boss version that counts for this achievement).
## The fight
Blood-Curse mechanic builds stacks; at 3 stacks he detonates massive damage. The Purifying Crystal Tear (Flask of Wondrous Physick mix) negates the curse entirely — bring it.
Phase 2 he becomes Bloodflame-empowered. Stay close to dodge his trident swings.
Two-phase fight. Phase 1: Godfrey with axe — predictable swings. Phase 2: Hoarah Loux — wrestler form, grabs you for massive damage if you're caught.
Key: avoid getting grabbed. Strafe constantly during Hoarah's grab windups. Roll TOWARD him to avoid the slam.
Two gargoyles, one with sword, one with axe/halberd. Phase 2 spawns the second after the first takes damage.
Use Mimic Tear or summons heavily; the duo can't be staggered if both are alive. Knock one out fast.
Mounted magic-knight. Greatbow + magic arrows + halberd. Stay close to limit her ranged options. Reaching her requires the Haligtree Medallion (two halves: Castle Sol + Village of the Albinaurics).
Magic resist + Bleed = quick kill.
Optional boss. Aggressive briar-themed knight. Phase 2 he gets faster and uses bleed-aura attacks.
Bleed Builds beat him with his own mechanics. Bring Anti-Bleed gear or Mottled Necklace. Reward: Marais Executioner's Sword.
Two locations have a Dragonkin Soldier — one in Lake of Rot (combined with Astel access), one in Siofra River. Either kill counts.
Thunder-elemental dragon-kin. Lightning resist helps. The Lake of Rot version requires Preserving Boluses for the Scarlet Rot floor.
Optional boss in Nokron / Siofra River. A large stag-like spirit. Light particle effects make tracking hard.
Close-range physical attacks shine here. The boss has no ranged options, so stay aggressive. Sacred / Holy damage works well.
## The infamous fight
Found deep in Haligtree, behind multiple layers of progression. Universally considered Elden Ring's hardest boss.
## Phase 1
Malenia has the Waterfowl Dance — 3-hit dive that one-shots most builds. Roll TOWARD the second attack, dodge laterally on the third. Practice this dodge repeatedly; everything else in the fight is manageable.
## Phase 2: Goddess of Rot
Adds Scarlet Rot procs to her attacks. Bring Preserving Boluses. The clone-explosion attack at her transition is unblockable; back off when she rises.
## Cheese options
Power Stance Antspur Rapier + Mimic Tear Ashes is the casual-friendly path. Bleed builds also crush her quickly.
The EASIER Mohg fight — not the one in Mohgwyn Palace. Subterranean Shunning Grounds, below Leyndell.
Dodge the spear sweeps + bloodflame projectiles. About half the difficulty of the Palace version. Different achievement.
Optional dragon boss. Found by lying down on the corpse-marker in the central Farum Azula room (you need to roleplay-rest there).
Massive boss with multi-head lightning attacks. Stay UNDER him — his attacks are aimed at distant targets. Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman + lightning resistance helps. Recommended: level 140+.
Optional boss as part of Fia's questline. Lightning-spitting dragon. Stay under him; his ranged lightning bombs are deadly.
Lightning resist gear + Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman trivialise the fight. Bleed and Holy damage work well on him.
## Ranni's questline
Most-difficult ending to set up. The questline has multiple stages and missed steps lock you out.
Key steps:
1. Meet Ranni at Three Sisters in Liurnia
2. Help her steal the Fingerslayer Blade (Nokron quest)
3. Bring her the Cursemark of Death
4. Defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void
5. Find Ranni's body in the cliffs and talk to her doll-self
6. Endgame: at the final choice, pick 'Age of the Stars'
Follow a wiki — easy to break the questline by talking to wrong NPCs or doing things out of order.
## The default ending
After beating Radagon + the Elden Beast in Leyndell (the final boss), choose to mend the Elden Ring. This is the most straightforward of the endings — no story branches required.
You'll have to defeat: Margit, Godrick, Renalla (or skip), Radahn, Morgott, Fire Giant, Maliketh, Godfrey, Radagon, Elden Beast.
## The 9
1. Dark Moon Greatsword (Ranni's quest)
2. Sword of Night and Flame (Caria Manor)
3. Marais Executioner's Sword (Elemer of the Briar)
4. Bolt of Gransax (Leyndell)
5. Devourer's Scepter (Bernahl quest)
6. Eclipse Shotel (Castle Sol)
7. Grafted Blade Greatsword (Castle Morne)
8. Ruins Greatsword (Misbegotten Warrior)

Follow a wiki path.

5. Flame of the Fell God (Fire Giant area)
6. Elden Stars (Deeproot Depths)
7. Ranni's Dark Moon (Ranni's quest reward)
## The bad ending
Before the final boss, go to the Frenzied Flame Proscription in Leyndell sewers. Strip naked + remove armor. Walk through the doorway. You receive the Frenzied Flame mark.
At the endgame choice, pick 'Lord of Frenzied Flame.'
Counters Ranni's ending — pick one per save. Miquella's Needle (Malenia drop) can reverse the Frenzied Flame BEFORE the choice.
Auto-completion achievement. Pops the moment the last remaining achievement is earned. Most players need 2-3 playthroughs to hit this — one ending per save path, with NG+ for boss cleanup.
