Legends - "Cronch"
Just like Griffin, your pirate kin, 'cronch' a banana and eat its skin! · 93.9% of players
Easy · 1/10~Seconds
Eat a banana, skin and all (reference achievement).

A fun reference achievement — simply eat a banana. Grab one from a barrel and eat it. Trivial; unlocks on your first banana.

Now Bring Me That Horizon
Each new pirate greets the world with anchor raised and sails unfurled! · 92.0% of players
Easy · 1/10~Minutes
Set sail into the world for the first time.

After the Maiden Voyage, start a session and raise anchor at an outpost to begin your first real voyage. Unlocks as soon as you set off into the open world.

I Wanna Be A Pirate!
A Company's pleased and you've reason to revel if your Reputation increased by one level! · 84.6% of players
Easy · 1/10~One or two voyages
Raise your Reputation with a Trading Company by one level.

Pick up a voyage from any Trading Company (Gold Hoarders for treasure maps are simplest), complete it, and sell the loot to that company. Selling raises your Reputation — one level does it. Gold Hoarders X-marks-the-spot maps are the fastest early rep.

Handbrake Turn
To swiftly avoid a great danger you're dreading, steer hard and drop anchor to alter your heading! · 83.6% of players
Easy · 1/10~Minutes
Drop anchor at speed to whip the ship around.

While sailing fast, drop the anchor and steer hard in the direction you want to swing — the ship pivots sharply (the 'anchor turn'). Useful in combat; doing it once unlocks this.

What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor?
Too many tankards of sweet, golden grog will first make you queasy, then sick as a dog… · 76.5% of players
Easy · 1/10~Minutes
Get your pirate drunk on grog.

Drink several tankards of grog (from tavern barrels or the bar) until your pirate is stumbling drunk. Keep drinking past tipsy and it unlocks — the screen blurs and your pirate staggers. Harmless fun.

When You're A Professional Pirate
Commendations are given by Companies when you've reached certain targets. Try to earn ten! · 71.7% of players
Easy · 2/10~Early play
Earn 10 Commendations.

Commendations are milestone challenges (dig up X chests, sail Y distance, etc.). You'll passively earn many just playing — check the Reputation menu per company. Ten comes in your first couple of sessions; look for near-complete ones to nudge over the line.

I Don’t See Your Ship
You fought a crew, stood strong and brave and sent their ship to a watery grave! · 69.5% of players
Medium · 5/10~One PvP fight
Sink another crew's ship.

Win a ship battle against another player crew — cannon their hull below the waterline faster than they can bail/repair, and board to sabotage. Naval combat is the skill wall; aim cannonballs at the hull, keep your own ship patched, and use boarding to plant damage. Sinking one enemy ship unlocks it.

Full Billow
All sails with the wind, what time it saves when speeding across the ocean's waves! · 66.3% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Sail at full speed with all sails down and angled to the wind.

Drop all your sails fully AND angle them to catch the wind directly behind you — the ship hits max speed. On a sloop it's easy solo; get the wind at your back, sails down and trimmed, and it unlocks.

It's A Pirates Life For Me
The Voyage is done; a chest of old now safe with those who hoard their gold! · 62.7% of players
Easy · 2/10~First voyage
Cash in a treasure chest.

Dig up a chest on a Gold Hoarders voyage (X on the map) and turn it in to the Gold Hoarders vendor at an outpost. Selling your first chest unlocks this and starts your gold/rep flow.

Shopping for a Promotion
Your Voyages have earned you enough recognition so buy a Promotion and prove your position! · 57.7% of players
Easy · 2/10~Early
Buy a Promotion from a Trading Company.

Once you have enough Reputation and gold with a company, talk to its representative and purchase the next Promotion (rank up). It's a manual buy at the company vendor — earn a level, then buy the promotion to unlock this.

Unto the Horizon
Complete the Maiden Voyage · 56.0% of players
Easy · 2/10~20 minutes
Complete the Maiden Voyage.

The Maiden Voyage is the solo tutorial questline launched from the main menu. Follow the prompts across the island, learn the basics, and reach the end. Purely guided — just play it through.

Well Done!
Your hearty meal's turned out wrong. You left it on the stove too long! · 53.2% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Cook a piece of food perfectly.

Put raw meat or fish on a stove/cooking pot and pull it off the moment it's golden (a sizzle/prompt indicates 'cooked', before it burns). Perfectly-cooked food heals more. Watch it closely and remove at the right beat.

Five a Day
Sampling every type of fruit will keep you fit to fight and loot! · 49.1% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Eat one of every type of fruit.

Fruit (bananas, mangoes, pineapples, coconuts, pomegranates) sits in barrels on outposts and ships. Grab one of each type from island/ship barrels and eat them. A quick outpost barrel-raid usually finds all five.

Taking Orders
Your Voyage complete, a skull returned, praise from the Order thusly earned! · 47.2% of players
Easy · 2/10~One voyage
Complete an Order of Souls voyage and sell the skull.

Buy an Order of Souls voyage, sail to the flagged island, defeat the named skeleton captain, loot their Villainous Bounty Skull, and sell it to the Order of Souls vendor. One completed bounty unlocks it and levels the Order.

Golden Ticket
Be part of a crew that votes to raise an Emissary Flag for the Gold Hoarders. · 44.3% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Raise an Emissary Flag for the Gold Hoarders.

At an outpost, visit the Gold Hoarders Emissary table and vote to raise their Emissary Flag (needs a little rep with them). Flying the flag boosts your sell value and grade — do it before treasure runs. Reaper's Bones and Order of Souls have their own flag achievements too.

Colourful Sails
Make your first buy from the Shipwright, who deals in figureheads, cannons, new sails and wheels! · 41.9% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Buy a cosmetic from the Shipwright.

At the Shipwright shop on any outpost, buy any ship cosmetic (sails, figurehead, cannons, wheel, etc.) with gold. One purchase unlocks it. The Weaponsmith (Eye of Reach, Blunderbuss) and other vendors have their own first-purchase achievements too.

Seeking Sanctuary
Pay a visit to the beautiful Sanctuary Outpost. · 35.1% of players
Easy · 2/10~Minutes
Visit Sanctuary Outpost.

One of several 'visit each outpost' achievements. Sail to Sanctuary Outpost and step ashore. The set (Ancient Spire, Plunder, Dagger Tooth, Galleon's Grave, Sanctuary, Port Merrick) is just a tour of the map — visit each outpost once.

What's Yours Is Mine
Open a Sea Fort Treasury · 34.2% of players
Medium · 5/10~One Sea Fort
Open a Sea Fort Treasury.

Sea Forts are the small towers dotted around the map. Clear the skeleton defenders, find the key/vault, and open the Treasury vault inside. Bring ammo and cannon in; one cleared Sea Fort does it and they're a quick loot source.

O Captain!
Set sail on a Captained ship as one of the crew. · 33.9% of players
Easy · 2/10~One purchase
Set sail on a Captained ship.

Buy a Captaincy for a ship (from the Sovereigns/Captain's table at an outpost), name it, then take it out. Sailing a ship you've captained unlocks this — you can also just crew on someone else's captained ship.

But You Have Heard Of Me?
Your reputation is starting to thrive. Grab your Promotion, you've reached twenty-five! · 30.4% of players
Medium · 5/10~Focused grind
Reach Reputation level 25 with a company.

Pick ONE company and grind its voyages, buying every promotion as you qualify. Gold Hoarders (treasure) or Merchant Alliance (deliveries) level fastest solo. Level 25 with a single company takes a good few sessions of focused selling.
