The very first thing the game asks you to do. Open the main menu, make an avatar in the character creator, then place them somewhere on the world globe. It pops before you have built anything.
Build any habitat with a barrier and a gate, then use the Animal Trade Centre (or the Animal Market in Franchise) to adopt an animal into it. The career tutorial walks you through this, so it lands naturally on your first scenario.
Hire a keeper, vet, mechanic or caretaker, then send them to a Staff Room or Staff Building with a training option and keep paying for training until the bar is full. Training costs money and takes in-game time, so the fastest route is a sandbox zoo with unlimited funds where you can queue the training immediately.
Animal Rating is driven by genetics and welfare together. The reliable route is to buy or breed an animal with very high genetic stats, then give it a habitat that scores full marks on space, terrain, foliage, water, temperature, enrichment and social group size. Check the animal's welfare panel and fix every red or amber line until the star rating ticks over.
Each career scenario lists its bronze, silver and gold objectives in the objectives panel. Bronze is the gentlest tier and the first scenario is designed to hand it to you. Work the listed goals in order rather than free-building and it arrives quickly.
A Wizard of Oz joke. All three are available in Sandbox with no research needed, so make three habitats (or one of each species in separate habitats), adopt an African Lion, a Bengal Tiger and any bear species, and the achievement fires while all three are in the zoo at once.
Silver sits one tier above bronze on the same scenario objective list, usually asking for a higher guest count, zoo rating or conservation figure. Finish bronze first and keep the zoo running rather than ending the scenario, because the objectives continue to tick.
Select any animal you own, open its info panel and choose to release it to the wild. In Franchise mode this also earns Conservation Credits, so it is something you will be doing regularly anyway.
The top tier of a single scenario's objectives. The early career levels are far easier to gold than the later ones, so do this on scenario one or two while the objectives are still small.
Adopt a male and a female of the same species into one habitat, make sure their welfare is healthy and that contraception is switched OFF in the animal's panel, then wait. Contraception is on by default for some species in Franchise, which is the usual reason nothing happens.
This counts distinct enrichment TYPES, not 25 copies of one item. Open the enrichment tab in a sandbox zoo and place one of each item you have unlocked across your habitats until you hit 25 different ones. Sandbox has everything unlocked, which makes this much faster than Franchise.
From the main menu choose Franchise mode and create a new zoo. That is the whole requirement - it fires on creation, not on anything you build.
A long cumulative count across your whole save history. The efficient approach is a dedicated breeding zoo: pick a fast-breeding species with short gestation and large litters, keep contraception off, keep welfare high, and sell or release the offspring to make room. Expect this to accumulate over many sessions rather than in one sitting.
Franchise only. Build a Research Centre, hire a vet and assign them to it, then queue an animal research project. Research runs on in-game time, so leave the game running at speed and it finishes on its own.
This is about EXHIBITS - the glass box enclosures for reptiles and invertebrates - not habitats. Place an exhibit, adopt a species into it, then open the exhibit's enrichment tab and toggle on every enrichment option the game offers for that species.
Hire three keepers, then draw three separate work zones on the map and assign one keeper to each. The zones must be different - three keepers sharing one zone will not count. Any mode except career tutorials works.
Pick a small, highly social herd species so that a large group is a welfare BONUS rather than a penalty, then build a very large habitat with generous terrain, foliage and water for that species. Keep an eye on the per-animal welfare readouts as the group grows, because space and food requirements scale with the headcount.
Albinism is a recessive genetic trait, so the animal must inherit the gene from both parents. Look for animals in the trade centre flagged as carrying the albino gene and breed them together, then repeat across generations. It is a dice roll each birth, so plan for many litters. Some species cannot produce albinos at all - check the Zoopedia entry before committing a breeding program.
You need every Zoopedia entry filled in, which means owning and researching the full roster of animals. This is the single biggest time sink in the game and grows every time a DLC animal pack is added, so check which packs you own before starting - the requirement tracks the content installed.
Take a loan from the finance panel and then pay it back. It is the total REPAID that matters, so taking a large loan and immediately repaying it out of a healthy balance clears this in one action. Sandbox with unlimited money makes it trivial.
Tracked rides are the guest transport rides. In sandbox, lay one continuous long loop rather than several short ones - the counter is total track length built, so a big sprawling circuit around the edge of the map gets there fastest.
Cumulative across everything you build. Long straight runs of the cheapest barrier in a sandbox zoo with unlimited funds are the quickest way to rack up distance. Habitat perimeters count, so a normal large zoo will chip away at this naturally too.
Education Rating comes from educational content that guests actually consume: education speakers, information boards near habitats, donation bins with signage, and keeper talks. Place education items right on the guest paths where people queue to look at animals, and staff enough educators to run talks. A small dense zoo scores far better than a sprawling one.
Two conditions at once. Get a breeding pair of African Lions going, and separately make sure the zoo holds at least ten DIFFERENT species when the cub is born - exhibit animals count toward the species total, which is the cheap way to pad it out.
Only species the game flags as Critically Endangered count. Check the Zoopedia conservation status before you commit - the status is listed on each animal's entry. Set up a breeding program for one qualifying species and release the offspring rather than buying twenty, because releasing bred animals with good genetics also pays much better in Conservation Credits.
Community Challenges are timed, server-side events in Franchise mode. Open the Community Challenge panel from the Franchise menu, join whichever challenge is currently running and contribute to it. If no challenge is live you have to wait for the next one to start, which is why this one can sit unearned for a while through no fault of yours.
Selective breeding over multiple generations. Buy the best genetics you can afford in size, fertility, longevity and immunity, breed the two strongest animals, keep the best offspring and repeat. Each generation nudges the averages up. Buying a single near-perfect animal from the trade centre with Conservation Credits is a legitimate shortcut if one appears.
Career mode only, and tied to one specific scenario. Play career Scenario 7 and take in the retiring Indian Elephants when the scenario offers them rather than declining or ignoring the prompt. Because it is tied to a scenario event, it is worth reading the objective text carefully before advancing the story.
Every scenario in the career campaign taken to at least bronze. Bronze objectives are the gentlest tier, so this is a long grind rather than a hard one. Work through the campaign in order - later scenarios unlock as you complete earlier ones.
The game ships more than one elephant species - you need a birth from two DIFFERENT ones, not two births from the same herd. Set up a breeding pair of each species you own, keep contraception off and welfare high, and wait for a calf from each.
One tier above Career Complete on every scenario. Silver objectives usually ask for higher guest numbers, ratings or conservation totals, so the approach is to finish each scenario's bronze goals and then keep playing that save rather than moving on immediately.
The full campaign at the top objective tier. This is the longest achievement in the base game outside the Zoopedia. Late scenarios have tight money and awkward starting layouts, so expect to restart a few of them once you know what the gold target actually demands.
Franchise zoos are placed on specific biomes when you create them. Create one zoo in each biome the globe offers - you do not have to build them out, only open them. Each new zoo does cost money in Franchise, so budget for it.
Purely a count of zoos created in Franchise mode. Creating a zoo has a cost, so you need a healthy Franchise balance first. There is no requirement to develop them, so this is a repetitive but straightforward grind once the money is there.
Similar to Diversity but tracked by continent rather than biome. When creating each Franchise zoo, check the globe placement - the continent is shown as you pick the location. Some biome and continent combinations overlap, so plan placements to knock out both achievements together.
The full campaign again, with hard difficulty selected on each scenario. Hard tightens the money and the guest patience, so the usual failure mode is overbuilding early. Keep the zoo small, get the cash flow positive, then expand.
Silver objectives with hard difficulty's tighter economy. Because difficulty is chosen per scenario, you can do a hard run of each level in the same save file sequence as the bronze run - but the silver targets are what make this long.
The hardest thing in the game: every career scenario, gold objectives, hard difficulty. Treat each scenario as a fresh optimisation puzzle, read the gold objective before placing a single path, and be prepared to restart levels where the gold target needs a specific layout from the start.
